Unturned Stone, The Stowaway, Talmage Vineyard

Viti/Vini
Talmage Vineyard is dry- farmed organically by Troy and Tia Satterwhite. The Zin and Carignan are co-picked and co-fermented. Zin is de-stemmed and Carignan is whole-cluster fermented. A natural primary fermentation occurred in one-ton plastic bins. The wine was then pressed into used Pinot Noir barrels where it matured for 10 months, with one racking before bottling. There were two miniscule SO2 additions, one after MLF and the second just before bottling. The wine is unfined and unfiltered.
Producer

Erin and Randy founded Unturned Stone in 2010 and are dedicated to producing natural, delicious wine in California. They source only organically farmed fruit from Sonoma and Mendocino counties. They bottle all of their wines as vineyard designates, to honor the unique origin of each wine, and to respect the farmer responsible for growing that fruit. They believe good wine is grown rather than made and see themselves as custodians of that process. Their aim is to produce wines that are fun to drink and reflect the laid back nature of the North Coast. Unturned Stone is a metaphor for how Randy and Erin approach their lives, their relationship and their winemaking, with curiosity and adventure. Essentially, it comes down to discovering the stone not yet turned.
