Unturned Stone, The Blush, Adel's Vineyard

Viti/Vini
The site has been organically farmed by the owner, Adel Atallah, since about 2011. In 2018, Randy and Erin took over the farming and have improved the health of the soil with compost additions and tilth-improving cover crop. All harvested by hand and pressed after a brief maceration into stainless steel, where it settles and ferments naturally. There is a short elevage in puncheons, followed by a very small dose of SO2 prior to bottling unfined and unfiltered.
Producer

Erin and Randy founded Unturned Stone in 2010 and are dedicated to producing natural, delicious wine in California. They source only organically farmed fruit from Sonoma and Mendocino counties. They bottle all of their wines as vineyard designates, to honor the unique origin of each wine, and to respect the farmer responsible for growing that fruit. They believe good wine is grown rather than made and see themselves as custodians of that process. Their aim is to produce wines that are fun to drink and reflect the laid back nature of the North Coast. Unturned Stone is a metaphor for how Randy and Erin approach their lives, their relationship and their winemaking, with curiosity and adventure. Essentially, it comes down to discovering the stone not yet turned.
