Domaine de Thalie 'Les pierres levees', Macon-Bray

Viti/Vini
Older vines on a one-hectare parcel with western exposure at 300m. Hand harvest, whole bunch pressed into neutral demi-muid (600L) for a natural fermentation. Aged on lees for 12 months. Unfined, unfiltered, minimal SO2. ‘Les pierres levees’ refers to a menhir on the plot that brings vitality to the place.
Producer

Peter Gierszewski established this small five-hectare estate in 2019. He started from scratch, purchasing old vines and converting an old farmhouse into a cellar and home. It is situated in the hills above Cluny, a natural and historic sub-region of Saone-et-Loire. Farming is organic and biodynamic and Peter values biodiversity. The soils are very diverse and the wines extraordinarily expressive.
